Industry Development Board Malaysia
The Construction Sector is widely
regarded as a catalyst for growth, where it often serves as an
indicator of a nation’s economic performance where brisk
construction activities indicate a booming economy and sluggish
construction activities inevitably pose indications of economic
depression.
Despite this prominent role, there was the absence of a single
body or organization to address the pertinent issues faced by
the Construction Industry and to advise the Federal Government
on aspects related to the formulation of relevant policies for
the Industry.
Prior to the establishment of CIDB Malaysia, the Construction
Industry was a very segmented and fragmented one where various
players were implementing and carrying out their own programs
and activities without proper direction and guidance.
